Summer League Finals

Summer League Finals take place this Friday at 6 PM on Citizens Field.

Whether playing or not playing here are a few reasons you should make your way out there: Catch up with good friends, Support local Ultimate, Heckle, and of course the BEvERages! Rumor has it Sierra will be making another appearance.

Champ Bracket:

#1 Tang (Orange) vs. #4 Epic Pale (White)

The Kek vs. Greathouse matchup continues with this battle for the ages. In their first meeting both Orange and White were missing a few key players, but the playoffs will be a whole nother ball game with both teams near full strength.

What to Watch For:How will Epic Pale handle the raw speed of Orange? Can Tang defeat the Pale’s Zone?

#2 Know Expectations (Gold) vs. #3 Whiskey Discs (Royal)

A friendly rivalry between Pilgram and Showkiller. Gold is the Cinderella of league and I kind of take credit for calling Gold’s success later in the season. However, I expected them to make their move toward the later part of the regular season not just in the playoffs. Royal on the other hand was batting a 1.000 into the playoffs until getting upset in the first Quarters game to a very generous Forest team. They were able to turn things around against Silver in round 2, but anything is possible this Friday depending which Royal shows up.

What to Watch For:Can Know Expectations add Royal to their recent victimized list of Red and Black? How will Royal contain the 3 best handlers in league: Pilgram, Joel, and James Thomas?

Chump Bracket:

#5 Night Night Time (Black) vs #8 Gangrene (Forest)

The battle of dual pair rook captains Lee / Coleman vs. Robert / Cynthia. Forest might have just started finding their groove by first upsetting Royal in Q1 then coming close to taking down Orange in Q2. The thing with Forest is which team will make it to the field: the 1-9 regular season team or the laying out crazy playoff’s team? Black slipped up and lost to Gold in Q1, but beat a shorthanded Navy team in Q2 to get in the Chump Bracket.

What to Watch For: Can Black keep Greg Feldman from skying over everyone? How will Forest deal with the constant taunting of Skool boy?

#6 Navy Jones’ Locker (Navy) vs. #7 Ag (Silver)

Former National Champ Matt realized in the Silver v. Red game that beer and Frisbee really do go together as Silver went on to embarrass Red in Q1. Don’t get your hopes up though because Navy boasts the 2 best pairs in league: Travis and Tanya, Fro Joe and Cathy. This one probably won’t be close.

What to Watch For: Can Silver take advantage of the late shows of Navy? Will Navy slow the Ben, Dustin, Matt combo?

Honorably Mention Game:

#9 Tactical Geniuses (Red) vs. #10 All My Best Friends (Maroon)

This game probably won’t happen, but stay thirsty my friends!

So come join us this Friday 6 PM at Citizens Field.
