Welcome to Gainesville’s Ultimate Frisbee league website!
Below are answers to some common questions:
When are games played?
During Fall and Winter Leagues we play on Sundays at 2:00pm. During Summer League we play on Wednesdays at 6:00pm. Games last about 2-3 hours. Major holidays or tournament weeks are usually skipped.
Where are games played?
All games are played at Citizen’s Field in Northeast Gainesville. Plenty of parking is available.
What is the skill level?
It varies from brand new to extremely experienced! We have players who have competed in nationals and players whom are just getting started or want to play with their buddy.
How much does it cost?
Cost varies by when you sign up:
Regular Men’s: $31 Regular Women’s: $26
There are discounts for signing up and paying early.
What do I get for signing up?
You will be eligible to play all regular season and playoff games with a team, a synthetic jersey in your team’s color, assorted bonuses as the season goes on (such as kegs at finals), and the possibility to win a disc for prediction, stats, and team challenges.
How long does the season last?
This varies by season but each League generally approximates the semester schedule, starting within a week of the beginning and ending around finals.
How are teams chosen?
We do a draft where the Captain’s select their teams to make sure everything is balanced and everyone has a fair time.
Can I play with a friend?
First-time players are always allowed to pair up with another player. We generally discourage other pairs since it can make balancing very difficult.
What are the gender rules?
The current gender rule for this league are half the women, rounding down (and with a minimum of 1). The target is 5-2, but sometimes the O team can play 6-1 depending on the number of women present.
