Wildcard/Seeding Predictions by Dr. Who and Dr. Seuss
Dr. Who- Welcome to the Playoffs. For some teams, this is an extremely important week, for others, it doesn’t really matter.
Dr. Seuss- The games for seeding will be hard to predict because I’m not sure which teams are trying their hardest to win these and which teams are using this game to give their bench players some game time before the elimination games… here we go!
Silver vs. Purple
Silver has been on a 2 game losing streak to two top-4 teams, Grey and Royal. Grey beat Silver with a full squad but the Silver that played against Royal was missing some of their stars… think of that Silver squad as an Ag isotope. I think that this game could be won by Purple if it was an elimination all-or-nothing game, but I think that Ag is too try-hard to let Purple take this win. Definitely not a bad thing, as I think that mentality will take Silver to the Finals game… whether they win that match is a whole ‘nother story. Ag by 2.
Dr. Who- Purple is going to win by 5 because Silver forgot how to win. They lost to Iron Grey and Royal. They are just like Forest before they started losing. They don’t deserve their record. Purple wants blood and Zach is healthy. Who needs Sean Jones when you have KJ? Purple by 5
Grey vs. Royal
Dr Seuss- This is a week 1 re-match. In that first game, Grey seemed to have the win locked in but Royal closed in and ended up taking the game… but it was week 1. Since then, both of these teams have proven to be top league contenders, beating Ag among others. My boy Nassoiy is a beast and a great captain. But one thing I’ve learned over the league playoffs I’ve been in is that you never know when Colin (among other players) will not show up. That, and dat DDP-Jersey-JP combo is just too good. Also, Grey may or may not have Max for playoffs. IronWill by 1.
Dr Who- Phil is a legendary captain. Jersey is new at this and hasn’t written a report in a long time. When push comes to shove Iron doesn’t have what it takes. DDP has his sights set on nationals and is mentally done with league. If Jersey doesn’t step up they will lose. Also, Max should be gone, but who values honesty in this league? Definitely not any great players who claim to be missing playoffs and get drafted late, then somehow make the playoffs. Royal by 2
Forest vs. Deep Orange
Dr. Seuss- This is the easiest match-up to predict this week, and I hope Dr. Who agrees with me on this one. Deep Orange just doesn’t have it…Fletcher is a cool guy but I think he just got dragged down with Bobroff with a bad start, a rough draft for them. I would say this team is like Yozgat’s Navy team that went without a win, but it’s not… this team can actually field people but they just don’t have the chemistry and personnel to do much in a stacked summer league like this one. Alex, Lemons, Ward are a nasty big 3 and I think they have the possibility of upsetting a top-4 giant in the next round. Lt. Dan & His New Legs by 5.
Dr. Who- Deep Orange isn’t worth more than one sentence. Forest by 16
Neon Yellow vs. Neon Pink
Dr. Seuss- This is another one Dr. Who and I should agree on. Yellow has some athletes, Bennett and James are too dirty. I’m not sure how their chemistry together has been, but they really don’t need a lot to beat Pink. Pink is a solid team, don’t get me wrong, but they just haven’t shown they’re a contender in this league, they haven’t beaten any top teams. They had really close games against Silver, Royal, and the strong comeback Tropic team, and I don’t think they will be blown out like Dr. Who thinks they are. Seize the Disc [Or Die] by 3.
Dr. Who- Neon Pink is roasted because they haven’t won recently and are going to be missing players in the finals. Unlike the other bad teams, it doesn’t suck to be a player on Neon Pink because you guys have fun. Keep having fun and try to not get blown out. Bennett won’t be stopped. No one in league can handle him, especially if Andres is there backing him up. If Yellow has Andres they won’t be stopped by anyone. We’ll see if he makes time to come to league. Yellow by 6
Red vs. Neon Orange
Dr. Seuss- These last two games Dr. Who and I disagree on, but I think I’m right. Neon Orange is a solid solid solid team. Brawley has shown to be a sick 1st rounder, even in a stacked summer league, and Dan Wilson is the man – seriously. A-dub has really stepped up a lot, a steal at 7th round, and Parker Kelly is good – when he’s there. But Orange is still going to be missing Pip and Kenny (I believe?) and they will not take out a full Red squad. Red started out the season strong, and then started to lose games when their girls stopped showing up. It is EXTREMELY hard to win games when you’re having to play down a man because you don’t have enough girls to match the other team. If Red has their girls show up (Mainly Espi), then they will win this game. Dummel is a beast and Bradford has shown the ability to be a main handler for this squad. No-Name Red by 2.
Dr. Who- Neon Orange is going to win this game. On a single header day Red will come out flat and Orange will get a quick lead, then Kenny will magically heal and all will be right in the world and they will be a top team. If things work out for Orange they are beating Red. Red is a second-tier team. They aren’t a unit, but they have fun. It would be cool if Ben or Tom would write Captains reports. Neon Orange by 4
Black vs. Tropic
Dr. Seuss- If there is one game I’m sure I got Dr. Who beat on, it’s this one. The Tropic that came back in week 7 is not even close to the Tropic that played those first 6 games. They’re on a 4-game winning streak, mostly relatively easy games minus their win against the top-4 IronWill. I haven’t seen Black at their full might, and their top 4 guys + Gardiner is a squad to fear for sure… but I fear Tropic’s top 5 guys + the legendary Jenna Dahl a bit more. No-name Tropic by 3.
Dr. Who- Tropic won those games on pure athleticism. Black is really good, and they actually have an anchor that comes in the form of the legendary CVA. Greathouse knows what he’s doing and the captains for Tropic are never there. This is coin flippy, but if all of Black shows up then they will win. Black by 2
