On this day in history, a few things happened. For example, St. Barbara was executed by her father, Boss Tweed escaped justice by fleeing the country, the Mary Celeste was discovered (creepy!), and Fatty Arbuckle went on trial for murder, which by the way, was all quite fitting considering the weather.
Today was a fine evening of field-disc. Everything was great. Standard: we had two games of 3/11 with short field rules. Oh, and there was a light rain falling the entire time. And, it was like 50 degrees at first pull. Basically, we had miserable conditions, but it was a fun night.
Team 1: Josh, Pilgrim, Obama!, and Dr. D.
Team 2: Godfather, Puller, and Zen
Game One: Because we were so short-handed and the weather was so foul, we had a Turnover-Holiday, lest every player finish with deep, deep negative scores. Anyway, the 2s got an early lead, but the 1s battled back and knotted it up at the 14th. The 2s though, got to work and were about to go on a 4-1 run to take the game. Final: 11-8, Team 2.
Game Two: This game was close all the way through, with ties at the 8th, 14th, and 16th points. The 1s then got a score and a break and were up by 2. The 2s answered and got a goal, but then the 1s scored again and prevented overtime. Final: 11-9, Team 1.
LoSG: Yes
Points: 19-20 (extremely close!)
Schedule: Sunday at Citizens (330pm), Wednesday at 7pm, and Friday at 6pm
