[Godfather]

On this day in 1953, General Electric announced that it would fire all of its "Communist" employees. I'll be honest: I can't think of a punchline funnier than that opening line. The 1950s must have been just awesome.

Today was a fine day of field-disc, as the weather got ready to turn from warm to cold. Standard: We had two games of 6/11 and 6/7 with an east-west set on dimly lined fields (thanks Kink!). The weather was warmish with a slight, swirling wind. The field is in bad shape. I blame the tail-gaters. Thanks for nothing, you selfish PTA types.

Team 2: Josh, London, Denyce, Dr. D, Swiss, and Showkiller

Game One: Yeah, let's face it- it was going to be a huck fest, and there was nothing anybody could do about it. The 2s were looking extremely good, but then to ice the situation, they picked up Tim- you know- just to make sure. The 1s though, fought like dogs and managed to win ties at the 10th, 12th, 16th, 18th and 20th points. In a short overtime though, the 2s won. Yeah. Good for you, sport. Final: 12-10, Team 2.

Game Two: It was more of the same, with the 1s yet again beating the spread by only losing by 2. The primary strategy- and this is no lie- was to throw up junk and let Showkiller pull it down. High quality ultimate, says I. Final: 7-5, Team 2.
